Simon Peter was an ordinary first century fisherman on the Sea of Galilee, who was transformed into a follower of Jesus. He was flawed… but faithful. Peter was the first to profess Jesus as the Son of God, yet he later denied even knowing him. Peter in fear deserted Jesus, yet went on to courageously give his life for the sake of his call.
Peter’s story is our story. We too are flawed human beings. We too are called by Jesus to faithfully believe in and follow him.
You’re invited to join Ozark UMC on Sunday mornings, March 3 – May 12, for worship at 8:30 or 11:00, and for our sermon series called “Flawed… but Faithful.” The series is based on New Testament Scripture and the book Simon Peter: Flawed but Faithful Disciple by United Methodist pastor and writer Adam Hamilton. In examining the life and times of Simon Peter, we’ll hear Christ’s call in our own lives, find inspiration in our own failures, and learn practical ways to faithfully follow Jesus Christ!
