Lent forces us to ask ourselves if we are serious about following Jesus.  It is a season that presents us with an opportunity to seek more as we, the Church, emerge out of the darkness of sin’s winter into the springtime of new birth and life through the mercy and grace of Christ, and the gift of repentance.  Lent is all about Jesus, but when we encounter the fullness of Christ and his acts of salvation, he can often seem like a stranger—like we never really knew him.  Throughout Lent, we are going seek to know more fully our Lord Jesus, the stranger—seeking to finally see the Jesus we have been looking at for so long.
