Jesus entered the world proclaiming and inaugurating an other-worldly kingdom; an upside-down kingdom that would have no end. Though this kingdom is not yet here in its fullness, the Church is empowered to be a witness to Christ’s kingdom here and now. We do that by living out the cross-centered and cross-shaped ethics of Jesus. The Gospels are full of Jesus’ teachings on the implications of his life, death, resurrection, and ascension for the way that we live our lives. Throughout October we are going to dig into a few of those teachings as we seek to live Jesus-centered, Kingdom-oriented lives.
